Bowmanville Clinic Relocating ![]()
Effective November 23. See below for details.
Effective November 18, all Health Department H1N1 vaccination clinics will be open to the general population ![]()
In addition to receiving the H1N1 vaccine at Health Department community clinics, area residents may be able to access H1N1 vaccine through their health care provider or local walk-in clinic. Community clinics and local health care providers will offer both adjuvanted and unadjuvanted versions of the vaccine.
Individuals recommended to receive the adjuvanted version of the H1N1 vaccine include:
- children six-months to nine-years old;
- all persons over six-months old with chronic medical conditions; and
- all persons 65 and older.
All children six-months to under three-years old are to continue to receive two doses of adjuvanted vaccine at least 21 days apart, as are children six-months to nine-years old with weaker immune systems and chronic medical conditions. Healthy children between three and nine-years old require only one dose of adjuvanted vaccine.
Healthy people between 10 and 64-years old may receive either the adjuvanted or unadjuvanted version of the vaccine. It is recommended that pregnant women received an unadjuvanted version of the H1N1 vaccine, where available
